YR Week Ending 12.5.17

Reception have had a busy week continuing their work on Jack and the Beanstalk. The children have been producing independent pieces of writing so that we are able to personalise learning to their individual Next Steps.  We have had some fabulous accounts of the story, speech bubbles for the giant and lots of sentences and labels to match different parts of the story.  We have been very impressed with their work and ability to work by themselves!

We have been thinking about lots of different concepts related to Shape, Space and Measures during our Maths lessons.  We have been exploring time, money, capacity, positional language, 2d and 3d shapes and measuring, to name but a few!

We have continued to explore colours this week and the children took part in some great experiments involving milk, soap, toothpicks and food colouring and a great one using Skittles and water!  Please see some of our photographs below!

Homework – to learn and practise spellings sent home in your child’s Reading Diary and to continue with Guided Reading and Reading Challenges. Many Thanks.
