YR 26.5.17

Reception have had a busy (and hot!) week learning all about Hansel and Gretel.  They have enjoyed time spent in the Computer Suite designing their own gingerbread houses and have produced some fantastic work using Purple Mash.

After the holiday, we will be thinking about the Gingerbread Man – including work on ordinal numbers, following instructions to make gingerbread men, using playdough to create our own designs and writing about the story.

Homework – To continue, as usual, with spellings and reading.  If your child would like to do a little extra over the holidays they could begin to find out about the story ‘The Gingerbread Man’ in preparation for our work on it after the holiday. They could read the story, make their own real or pretend Gingerbread Man, draw a picture of their favourite character or, maybe even, think of an alternative ending!

We wish you all a lovely holiday and let’s hope the sun continues to shine! Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing our little ones back in June for their last half term in Reception! Time is going far too fast!
