Reception have had a great week learning all about The Gingerbread Man! We have taken part in lots of different activities including awarding rosettes to each character to show their position in the story (1st-6th), using playdough to create our own gingerbread characters, repeating patterns linked to the story, writing a description of the fox with interesting adjectives and, the favourite, actually baking our own Gingerbread Men! The children have also really enjoyed acting out the story in our Small World tray and building an alternative way for the Gingerbread man to cross the river safely! We will be continuing with this story next week, with a focus on retelling the story and lots of experiments involving the Gingerbread Man!
Homework for week ending 9.6.17 – Reading Challenge and weekly reading, Spellings for this week can be found in your child’s Reading Diary. Next week, we are thinking all about Kindness – It would be lovely to celebrate achievements linked to being kind and would love to see lots in our Achievement Box!
Tuesday 20th June – Reception trip to the MAC to watch Sarah and Duck! We will be leaving after an early lunch and plan to be back for the end of school. Your child does not need to bring anything for the trip and should wear normal school uniform.
