Reception have had a great week carrying out further experiments with the Gingerbread Man! They have all enjoyed being scientists and testing out their predictions.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable trip to the MAC theatre to watch a production of Sarah and Duck. The children were fantastic ambassadors for the school with their brilliant behaviour. Some even fitted in a little extra sleep on the way back!
We have also been lucky enough to have a visit from Paul, who taught us all about Road Safety. We thought about how to cross a road safely and the differences between a zebra, pelican and toucan crossing. He told us about the importance of using an appropriate car seat and wearing a seat belt when travelling in the car and also about the importance of wearing a helmet and reflective jacket when riding our bikes. We all learned lots and had great fun in the process!
Next week, we will be starting work on The Very Hungry Caterpillar and will be having some special visitors in our classrooms! We will be learning all about the life-cycle of a caterpillar, thinking about days of the week and telling the time using ‘o’clock’. We are also looking forward to Sports’ Day on Friday 30th June (morning).
Homework – Continue with home reading and Reading Challenge books. Please also encourage your child to be involved in telling the time on an analogue clock as much as possible. Many Thanks.
