We hope you had a wonderful break and feel refreshed and ready to start the new year! The children have had a positive start back and are excited to embrace the new changes that have met them in Key Stage 2. The children have completed the timetable on their homework diary but here are the important weekly events:
Monday – spelling test and new spellings home, Times tables test, reading records due in (with at least 3 entries please) and homework diaries brought in.
Wednesday – Maths passport test and new passport sent home.
Homework will be issued next week. This will be in the form of a ‘Passport’, which will involve a number of activities which need to be completed over the course of the half term rather than receiving a weekly piece of homework which is due the following week. We hope that you will find this more manageable. We will be consulting you for feedback at half term.
PE will take place on Monday afternoons. On Friday afternoons, the children will be either swimming (3BL from September until February and 3TV from February until July) or doing PE in school. Please ensure the children have appropriate kit in school on those days.
We understand there can be initial teething problems and whilst we are trying to encourage independence, please don’t hesitate to come and see us at the end of the day if you have any questions.
We are looking forward to a productive year and are excited to be teaching this lovely year group.
Thanks for your continued support,
Mrs Byrne and Mr Viollet
