Year 1 homework – 8th November

This week’s homework is as follows:

Spellings – The tricky words words will be tested on Monday 13th November. These spellings can also be found on the school website by clicking on Pupils -> Spellings -> Year 1.

Reading – Please ensure your child is reading at least three times per week. This can be one of the books sent home or a book on Bug Club.

Reading comprehension – This week we would like the children to complete a reading comprehension activity titled ‘Who said it?’ or ‘Why?’. This homework will be handed out Friday and is due in the following Friday.

Finally, please may we remind you of a few upcoming events:

Year 1 Maths Workshop – Please return your slip to confirm who will be attending to support your child. The workshop will take place on Tuesday 21st November at 9am.

Whole school trip to the Garrick – This visit will take place on Thursday 14th December. Please return your child’s consent slip to school as soon as possible.

KS1 Christmas production – Yes, it’s almost that time of year again! Your child has now been given a part in our Year 1 performance. If your child has a speaking part then they will be bringing home a copy of their lines on Monday 13th November. Information about costumes will be sent home very soon but some parts (e.g. star, sheep, shepherds, angel) speak for themselves.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best wishes,

Mr Storer and Miss Faulkner
