Reception have been thinking lots about 2d shapes and their properties this week. We have been learning about square rectangles, oblong rectangles, circles, triangles, hexagons and pentagons. The children have been brilliant at using mathematical language to describe them!
We have also been working hard on identifying rhyming words and extending rhyming strings, linked to the story of ‘Room on the Broom’. The children have helped the witch make some great rhyming spells!
We have been thinking all about ‘sound’ and the children have been thinking about their senses. They have been choosing their own resources and materials to create their own musical instruments! You will be pleased to hear that we will be sending the children home with these in the next few weeks!
We are busy sorting the Christmas play script and costume letters out and so information should be with you next week!
