Year 1 homework – 6th December

This week’s homework is as follows:

Spellings – The ch words will be tested in two weeks time on Monday 18th December. These spellings can also be found on the school website by clicking on Pupils -> Spellings -> Year 1.

Reading – Please ensure your child is reading at least three times per week. This can be one of the books sent home or a book on Bug Club.

Maths – This week we would like the children to complete a worksheet based on doubling. This will be sent home on Thursday.

Please may we also remind you of a few upcoming events:

Whole school trip to the Garrick – This visit will take place on Thursday 14th December. Please return your child’s consent slip to school as soon as possible.

KS1 Christmas production – This will take place on the mornings of Tuesday 12th December and Wednesday 13th December. The deadline for bringing in costumes is Monday 11th December as the children will need this for the dress rehearsal in front of the whole school.

Finally, we have noticed that there has been a recent onset of sickness and colds amongst the children. We have reminded the children of the need to zip up their coats at break times and to wash their hands thoroughly after going to the toilet. If you could please remind them of the importance of this at home we would be very grateful. We don’t want the children to be unwell at Christmas!

Thank you for your continued support.

Best wishes,

Mr Storer and Miss Faulkner
