Reception Week Ending 22.12.17

Well, we’ve made it to the end of the first term! We can’t believe how quickly it has flown by!

The children have had a very busy week with Merit Assembly, watching different year groups performing their Christmas productions, a final performance of their own play and lots of different Christmas craft activities.

The children all wrote their own letter and envelope to Father Christmas and then, on Thursday afternoon, a post box magically appeared in the Wooded Area! We walked down and all posted our letters.  Mrs Ashton then brought up a special delivery (replies from the big man himself!) after reportedly hearing strange jingling noises on the Office roof! All very strange, but magical!

We have ended the week with a Staff performance of  Aladdin, a rousing rendition on The Twelve Days of Christmas and, of course, our Christmas party! The children enjoyed a lovely lunch, served party style, in one of the Classrooms, followed by dancing and party games in the Hall.

May we take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and to wish you all a very merry Christmas. Many thanks for all of the lovely words of thanks, presents and cards that we have received – we are overwhelmed by your generosity and kindness.

Homework for the holidays has been sent home in your child’s Homework Folder. Guided Reading and Reading Challenge will obviously continue after the holidays.

We hope you all have a lovely break, Merry Christmas!
