This week, we have been thinking all about The Tiger Who Came to Tea! We have been writing letters from the children to the Tiger, creating shopping lists for Sophie’s mum to replenish the cupboards and have been thinking about adjectives to describe the Tiger! In maths, we have been concentrating on counting in 2s, 5s and 10s, thinking about doubling numbers up to 10 and representing these doubles as written number sentences.
We have also been exploring magnets, beginning to practise our special assembly and have been continuing our work on toys from the past/present day…many thanks for the homework completed last week – this formed the basis of a great and interesting discussion!
Next week, we will be thinking all about Chinese New Year – with our official celebration day being held on Friday 16th! Please remember your child is allowed to come dressed in red/orange or Chinese dress on the FRIDAY. We will be taking part in dance workshops and a themed lunch is being provided, for those who have a school lunch. Food tasting will take place on the Wednesday – please return the letter sent home earlier in the week if your child has any allergies.
Homework for this week is reinforcing class work on doubling numbers. Please continue to read with your child and comment in their Reading Diary. Please also help your child to practise their Tricky Words (updated sheets are being given out at Parents’ Evening appointments) and their words for our assembly – these were placed into Homework folders on Wednesday.
Many thanks for your continued support.
