This week Reception have had an exciting and interesting week learning all about Chinese New Year!
They have taken part in lots of different activities, including using coins to buy Chinese items, making dragon puppets, money wallets and masks, tasting a variety of Chinese food (many thanks to Sainsburys) and learning all about the related stories and traditions. The kitchen provided a delicious Chinese themed lunch and the children also took part in a special Chinese dance workshop.
The children all participated in a great science experiment – Jelly Chopsticks – which was great fun and very interesting!
After half term, we will be focusing on the story ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’.
Homework for this week is a Maths activity (please see Homework folder) and to continue to learn their words for our assembly.
Also in the purple homework folders, you will find a very special invitation to Reception’s Mothering Sunday assembly. Please RSVP if your are able to attend!
Thank you for your continued support, have a lovely half term break!
Important Reminder…on Thursday 1st March, we will be celebrating World Book Day with the rest of the school. Children are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character!
