YR Week Ending 20.4.18

This week, we have started our topic based on ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and growing.  The children have thought about conditions for growth, planted their own bean seeds and have started to make their own non-fiction ‘Bean Diary’. We will be continuing with these next week!

We have also been thinking about sounds, linked to the story ‘Peace at Last’ by Jill Murphy and have been thinking about our local area, through Barnaby Bear!

Maths this week has focused on identifying and ordering numbers up to and beyond 20, identifying and filling in missing numbers from sequences and going on a number hunt outside! We will be continuing, next week, with work on two digit numbers and place value.

Our tricky words for next week will be: right, four, two, goes

Homework has been sent home in Homework folders and please continue with our regular Home Reading and Reading Challenge.  A letter was sent home earlier in the week regarding changes to our Guided Reading in school. Please see a member of the team if you have any questions.
