Reception had a great week last week, ending with our fantastic whole school Royal Wedding BBQ!
On the lead up to the BBQ, the children learned all about London and its famous landmarks through Barnaby Bear and his friend William Whiskerson! They decorated Royal Wedding balloons and made their own crowns to wear at our celebration. The children were also treated to a brilliant and informative assembly by Year 5!
This week, we will be looking at rhyme through the stories ‘Oi Dog!’ and ‘Oi Frog!’ We will be continuing work on halving and doubling in maths and beginning to look at times tables (x2 to begin with!). We are lucky enough to have the RSPB visiting on Thursday and so all children will get to participate in a great day of activities and wildlife watching! Woodland learning will continue on Friday.
Homework – please see your child’s homework folder for this week’s homework. Reading will continue as normal and Reading Challenge books will be changed on Friday ready for the half term holiday. If you are going on holiday, it would be fantastic if your child could write and send us a postcard! Any received will fit in brilliantly with our Geography work!
We are very much looking forward to our special Arts Week on the return from the half term holiday! A letter will be sent home regarding this special week soon.
Have a lovely break and thank you for your continued support…only one half term left. We can’t believe how fast this academic year is flying by!
