Year 6 – homework week commencing 18.06.18

Hello Year 6!

We hope you had a lovely weekend. Did you know ‘plastic’ is apparently the BBC children’s word of the year? Considering the colossal amount of plastic in the world, we are not surprised! Did you see what we did there?

Anyway, homework is as follows for this week:

Monday – Science homework – topic link. ‘What is fossilisation?’  ‘What can we learn from fossils?’ Watch the below clips from the BBC website and be ready to answer the questions in class later this week. Due 21.06.18.

Tuesday – Reading – Please read a selection of short stories from the 2018 BBC Radio 2 500 word list finalists. There are some fantastic stories but choose 2/3 to listen to you. What did you enjoy about them? What were your favourite parts? If you wrote a short story what would it be about? Be ready to share and discuss next week. Due 26.07.18.

Wednesday – Maths – please complete a statistics activity on Education City. Due 27.06.18.

All week:

Reading Challenges – please complete your reading challenge. Booklets also need to be signed.

Other notices:

  • Y6 Cluster Day – please return slips a.s.a.p.
  • Assemblies – please check dates on the newsletter for music assemblies. You will need to ensure you have your musical instrument in school that day.
  • Family day – parents, we would welcome any support with stalls for the annual FOLSS Family Day. Please can you let us know if you are able to help with a stall by Thursday. Please check the FOLSS letter for further details.

As always, thank you for your continued support. Any queries please do not hesitate to come and speak to us.

The Year 6 team.
