This week, YR will continue learning the story Jasper’s Beanstalk by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen.
In Literacy, we will using our Talk for Writing actions to help us recall and write the story. We will also be making our own mini-book versions of the story, mixing colours to paint beanstalks and building beanstalks in our outdoor area.
We will also continue linking the story to our Maths work where we will be helping Jasper the cat learn all about money! We will be handling money and looking closely at the shapes and sizes of different coins, as well as thinking carefully about the value of each coin. It our outdoor area we will have a go at spending some money in Jasper’s ‘picnic shop’.
Our rhyme of the week is ‘There was an old lady who swallowed a fly’. In Phonics, we will continue recapping our tricky words and sounds, and consolidating and applying our knowledge through reading sentences and discussing whether they make sense!
Please remember to check your child’s orange homework folder for this week’s written homework.
