This week, YR will be learning the story Mr Gumpy’s Outing by John Burningham.
In Literacy, we will be learning new Talk for Writing actions for our story and use our phonic knowledge to write a letter to Mr Gumpy, asking if we can go on a ride on his boat too! We will also be working together to make a large-scale boat in our outdoor area, making our own mini boats and testing whether they float or sink in our water tray and acting out the story on our story telling stage.
In Maths, we will be practising our doubling skills through lots of outdoor games and indoor exploration opportunities. We will have a go on Hit the Button and see if we can improve our scores over the week!
Our rhyme of the week is ‘Mouse, Frog and Little Red Hen. In Phonics, we will be learning about the 5 vowels in our alphabet and recapping on reading CCVC and CVCC words.
Please remember to check your child’s orange homework folder for this week’s written homework.
