Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovey half term break.
In Literacy, we are learning our new Talk for Writing story ‘The Gingerbread Man’. We are thinking about how the different characters in the story feel at different points in the story and writing sentences alongside scenes from the story. We are applying our phonics knowledge to write speech bubbles for some of the characters, having a go at drawing our own story maps and retelling the story using stick puppets in the small world tray.
Our rhyme of the week is ‘Ten Green Bottles’. In Phonics, we are recapping our tricky words and sounds, and exploring CCVC and CVCC words.
In Maths Mastery, we are learning about ordinal numbers and analysing data. We all took one bite of a gingerbread man and discussed which part of him we ate first! We then recorded the results on to a class pictogram and have been interpreting the data through discussion. We’ve also taken part in an assault course race and gave ourselves rosettes to represent our positions in the race!
Please remember to check your child’s orange homework folder for this week’s homework.
