YR Week Beginning 7.10.19

This week in Reception, we will be starting work on Talk for Writing in Literacy.  We will be learning a new story, Stuck in the Mud, which we we will be retelling orally.  We will also be further developing our vocabulary through the story (see ambitious vocabulary below).

In Phonics, we will be learning three new sound:  m, d, g.   We will be applying our new skill of blending when reading CVC words as we continue on our journey to fluent reading!  We will also be training our brains to read tricky words:  I, no, the.

Our rhyme of the week will be: Miss Polly Had a Dolly.

In Maths Mastery, we will be meeting a new Numberling: 3!  We will be practising to form the numeral 3 correctly; showing different representations of three using a range of maths resources; and learning all about the composition of 3.
