YR are enjoying our second week looking at ‘Dear Zoo’ by Rod Campbell. This week, we are focusing on using our story map and Talk for Writing actions to retell the story. We have had some fantastic writing so far and are looking forward to seeing what other brilliant work is produced throughout the course of the week!
In our Phonics sessions this week, we are reviewing our work on Phase 3 sounds.
During Maths Mastery, we will be looking at doubling, halving, one more and one less (working with numbers up to 20).
Our Rhyme of the Week is ‘I Know an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly’ – the children are loving this one!!
We will be continuing our work on our ‘Playgrounds’ topic and also learning more about the celebration of Easter.
Your child will be bringing home their Homework Folder on Wednesday with a Maths piece of work to be completed and returned when we come back to school on Monday 19th April. Your child will continue to need their Reading Folder on a daily basis and please practise their words in their word tub as often as possible.
Many thanks for your continued support over this half term and we hope that you all have a lovely Easter break – hopefully with lots of sunshine!
