We are looking forward to another busy week of learning in Reception!
This week, Reception will be continuing their work on correct pencil grip and letter formation. We will be forming the letters i, n, m, and d, using our formation phrases to help us!
In phonics, we will be learning the sounds ck, e, u and r and will be introducing the tricky word ‘I’. We will continue to practise our oral blending at every possible opportunity!
Our Rhyme of the Week is ‘I’m a Little Teapot’. Please practise this at home with your child – complete with the actions!
In Maths Mastery, we will be revisiting last week’s learning on Matching but will be extending our skills by learning about Sorting. The children are being encouraged to identify what is the same and what is different object objects and then to sort them according to their own criteria. Please encourage your child to practise sorting at home – a button box or something similar provides lots of great opportunities for this sort of activity!
We will be continuing our learning about our local school environment, Belonging and Autumn. The children are enjoying bringing their Autumnal finds into school to share with us and place on our Autumn display!
Please remember to follow us on Twitter – see the link at the bottom of the website. We will continue to post regular updates complete with photographs!
Many thanks for your continued support,
The Reception Team
