Year 1 update – 3rd December

Hi parents,

Year 1’s homework for this week is as follows:

Spellings – This week’s spellings are:

argue, rescue, chewing, stew, blew

These spellings will be tested on Monday 6th December. They are also available to practise on our new spelling programme – School Jotter: School Jotter – Dashboard (schooljotter2.com)

The following week’s spellings are:

six, seven, eight, nine, ten

These spellings will be tested on Monday 13th December.

Please ensure that your child’s spelling book is sent in every week to complete the test.

Reading – Please ensure that your child is reading regularly and that a comment is recorded in their reading records. This is extremely important as it enables us to determine which children are definitely reading at home. Thank you.

Maths homework – On Monday 6th, we will be handing out a worksheet based on addition and subtraction within 10. These are due in the following Monday.

Year 1 Maths workshop – Thank you very much to all the parents who attended our Maths workshop this morning. It was lovely to see the children’s enthusiasm and we hope you found it very useful. If you were unable to attend or still have any questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Year 1 nativity performance – Our two performances will take place this Thursday 9th December. Parents of 1NJ should attend at 9am and parents of 1JS at 11am.

Thank you for your continued support.

Mr Storer and Mrs Johnston
