Year 6 homework – week beginning 7th September 2022

Welcome back. You’ve been brilliant today and have all made great first impressions. Please find details below for your homework this week. Also, just a reminder that there will be a meeting regarding the residential next Thursday morning at 8;30 for parents in Y6EW.

If you would like to be a house captain, you will need to prepare a speech for Friday to present to your house. This is optional.

For Monday, please write a letter of application for your two preferred roles in school. As a member of Year 6, and therefore a more responsible and mature pupil in school, you are expected to assist the teachers with various tasks around school. These are:-

Music room monitors

Ipad/ICT suite monitors

Assembly KS1

Assembly KS2

Head teacher’s Job

House points

Registers (am)

Benches/chairs in assembly

Librarians

PE monitors

Phone monitor

Your task is to write an application letter to Mrs Murphy and Mrs Whittaker, stating which jobs you would like to do (first and second choice). You will need to state why you think you will be effective at each job to convince us to appoint you.

Below is an example of how to begin. You will need to sign off with “Yours sincerely,” as you know who you are addressing the letter to.
