YR Week Beginning 23.11.20

This week in Reception, we will be continuing to apply our phonic skills in our independent writing.  We will be reading ‘Dear Santa’ and starting to think about writing our letters to Father Christmas!

In Phonics, we will be learning four new sounds: j, v, w and x.  Our four new high frequency words will be: he, she, me and be.  This week, we will be decoding lots of captions and simple sentences!

Our Rhyme of the Week will be: Little Jack Horner.

In Maths Mastery, we will be meeting the Numberling 6 from the Numberblocks.  We will be thinking carefully about the composition of 6 and representing 6 in lots of different ways.

We will also be working hard on learning our words, songs and dances for our Christmas production.  More details to follow!

Please continue to check your child’s homework folder on a Wednesday and return on the following Monday. We will be changing Reading Challenge books on Friday and adding new words to your child’s word tub.  Thank you for ensuring that your child has their Reading Folder with them on a daily basis.

We are also very much looking forward to welcoming back our Home Learning children on Wednesday – we have all missed them in class and around school very much. It will be nice to have our classes reunited!
